4 different offices, 1 similar objective: to highlight the importance of clean waters in our cities.
Singapore, Mumbai, London and Vancouver showed up and showed support for cleaner rivers, shores, and reservoirs. Each of our volunteers donned safety gears and headed to 4 different bodies of water to pick up litter that contribute to water pollution in our respective cities.
Singapore, together with Waterways Watch Society, hopped on kayaks and powerboats to search for litter that have been left in the Marina Reservoir, one of Singapore’s sources of potable water. It was a call, not only to protect, but to also conserve water supplies.
In Mumbai, the team joined forces with Project Mumbai’s Jallosh’ Clean Coasts program and walked towards the shores of Prabhadevi Beach to collect plastic that will be eventually recycled into benches for public spaces, a creative way to turn trash into something useful.
London partnered with Thames21 to help protect one of London’s most iconic waterways. A wide variety of trash was collected which is a powerful reminder of the impact of everyday waste and the importance of collective action.
Vancouver, supported with Sea Smart, rolled up their sleeves for a shoreline cleanup along Coal Harbour. It was a great reminder that small actions along our local shorelines can make a big difference for the global ocean.
Protecting our waters is not only one city’s responsibility. As our waters are all connected, so are we in this mission to ensure clean, safe, and enjoyable waters for everyone.
