PRIORITY AREAS

Area 1: Employment

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay Canada is committed to improving accessibility across the recruitment and selection process. Teekay Canada aims to eliminate obstacles to employment and career advancement to ensure fairness and equity for all employees and job candidates, including people with visible and non-visible disabilities. We strive to leverage existing organizational structures and goals to drive accessibility and support educational initiatives around accessibility to promote understanding and remove workplace barriers. Teekay is committed to nurturing a workplace culture where every individual belongs, is treated fairly, is fully engaged in their work, and set up for success.

Commitment 1: By June 2025, develop and implement an Accommodation Policy and Request Process that includes workplace accommodation requests, request processes, and onboarding accommodations.

Status: Complete
Actions: The Teekay Canada Accommodation Policy has been shared internally and is available for customers and candidates externally. A copy of the Teekay Canada Accommodation Policy is available internally, and customers and candidates can request accommodation using the Request an Accommodation Form or contacting the recruiter. The document includes a plain-language, user-friendly summary of the Accommodation Policy and process with an accompanying flowchart to support the communication to all Teekay Canada employees and consultants via the internal communications platform, Viva Engage, which is part of the Microsoft 365 products.

Teekay Canada worked with a third-party HR consulting company to develop an Accommodation Policy and Request Form. Following the creation of the policy and form, we then worked with the British Columbia Centre for Ability (“BCCFA”) to review the Accommodation Policy and Request Form to ensure it was clear and easy to use for people of different abilities. Based on BCCFA’s feedback and as part of this 2025 Progress Report, we made the following updates to the policy and form:

  • Included guidance on training and support for using any equipment provided as part of an accommodation, where applicable (for example, providing instruction on the use of ergonomic equipment such as a specialized mouse).
  • Updated the policy and form using simpler, plain language to make them easier to understand.
  • Improved formatting in the policy and form to make them easier to read.
  • It was suggested that we consider adding examples of the types of accommodations or support individuals can request; however, we chose not to include a list in the policy to avoid limiting the range of possible accommodations or assuming an accommodation is needed. In practice, when the policy is discussed with employees, we provide verbal examples as appropriate.

Teekay Canada used BCCFA’s feedback to update and finalize the Accommodation Policy and Request Form.

Commitment 2: By December 2025, publish Teekay Canada’s Accommodation Policy and Request Process to the HR Resources and Policies Site for employees with an abbreviated version in job advertisements for job candidates.

Status: Complete
Actions: The Teekay Canada Accommodation Policy and Request Form has been published to the HR Resources and Policies site and shared via the internal communications channel Viva Engage, it included:

  • A user-friendly version of the Accommodation Policy
  • An accompanying flowchart to help with understanding

In addition, Teekay Canada developed an accessibility statement for external recruitment initiatives to demonstrate our commitment to a barrier free workplace and details on requesting accommodation during the recruitment and selection process. All job postings to date include an accessibility statement with an option to request accommodation. The statement is: “Teekay is committed to providing an accessible and comfortable interview experience for every candidate. If there is any reasonable accommodation our team can make throughout our recruitment process, please let us know.”

Commitment 3: By December 2025, identify and incorporate accessibility opportunities into Teekay’s overall Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, including a new DEI policy, education and training opportunities, and mentorship program.

Status: Complete
Actions: Teekay has actively worked with a DEI Consultant to explore ways to improve accessibility throughout our DEI initiatives. During 2025, we delivered a program called Collaboration & Belonging.  The program is designed to foster and deepen employees’ understanding of how an inclusive workplace culture can enhance teamwork and collaboration. The program sessions focus on building awareness of respectful workplace foundations, the impact of language, and the difference between intent and impact, and how our brains respond to social threats. Through interactive discussions, reflection, and activities, participants identified practical ways to support a workplace where everyone feels they belong. The program was delivered to all Teekay global offices with 160 shore-based employees attending during 2025, including employees in Canada.

Commitment 4: By June 2026, promote a workplace culture that understands accessibility through educational initiatives and communications led by individuals with disabilities or by organizations representing people with disabilities.

Actions: Teekay Canada does not require employees to disclose their disability status. This data is only collected if and when an employee chooses to disclose a disability for the purposes of an accommodation. As a result, accessibility initiatives have been primarily led by our Human Resources and leadership teams, unless otherwise required to fully accommodate the employee. The following initiatives are ongoing:

  • Accessibility considerations are included in internal communications. Feedback has been encouraged through company newsletters and sharing via the internal communications channel, Viva Engage, supporting employee engagement and continuous improvement in accessibility practices.
  • Accessibility and inclusion topics have been included in leadership training and DEI programs, including training on bias-aware leadership.
  • Teekay has implemented a global inclusive wellness initiative, with movement-based challenges using a mobile application that tracks movement rather than steps, ensuring participation is accessible to employees with different mobility abilities.

An accessibility-first approach continues to guide the planning and execution of internal events and workplace initiatives such as the holiday party.

Area 2: Built Environment

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay strives to create an environment where everyone feels included, comfortable, and valued. To foster welcoming and accommodating office spaces, we are committed to identifying and removing barriers to accessibility in the physical environment. Teekay Canada aims to enhance inclusion, belonging, and overall well-being for everyone by raising awareness of environmental accessibility barriers and enhancing accessibility throughout Teekay Canada’s office.

Commitment 1: By December 2024, communicate identified accessibility barriers with Bentall and EasyPark and provide recommended solutions.

Status: Complete
Actions: Accessible entry and exit buttons have been installed at Bentall 5. An accessible parking space has been relocated closer to the building entrance to improve access.

Commitment 2: By June 2025, research project requirements (i.e., time and budget) to install Tactile and Braille signage throughout Teekay Canada’s office.

Status: Complete
Actions: Tactile and Braille signage has been installed for washrooms and emergency exits.

Commitment 3: By June 2026, Research project requirements (i.e., time and budget) to install automatic doors into Teekay Canadas office space and key common areas.

Status: Complete
Actions: Automatic doors have been successfully installed in identified office areas and washrooms.

Commitment 4: In 2024, assess the emergency preparedness needs of current and future employees to ensure they are supported with dignity and have the necessary resources to navigate emergencies safely.

Status: Complete and ongoing
Actions: Teekay Canada has confidentially identified the employees and contractors that require assistance during workplace emergencies and worked with them to understand their specific needs. A list of these employees and contractors can be found in the Building Emergency Database held by Teekay Canada’s Corporate Services Manager. The list is reviewed every 6 months and updated accordingly.

Commitment 5: By June 2027, plan and implement Emergency Response Training delivered by individuals with disabilities or an organization representing people with disabilities to Floor/Area Wardens to support individuals with all types of disabilities during emergencies.

Status: In progress
Action: Teekay Canada is currently following the Bentall building guidance, which have Assistance Monitors responsible for assisting persons requiring assistance to a safe area beside or within the stairwells to await assistance from the Building Response Team or the authorities, should an evacuation or relocation be ordered by the Floor Warden.

Teekay Canada has begun researching organizations who offer this service and will engage with BCCFA to complete this commitment.

Area 3: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay’s objective is to ensure all individuals, including those with disabilities, have equal access to and participation in the technology used to conduct business. To accomplish this, we are committed to identifying and eliminating accessibility barriers throughout ICT systems to support equitable information sharing, offer equal access to company resources, and promote inclusivity across Teekay’s digital communications.

Commitment 1: By December 2026, research project requirements (i.e., time and budget) to incorporate WCAG 2.1 AA standards into Teekay’s website and increase accessibility.

Status: In progress and on track for completion in December 2026
Actions: Since the previous reporting period, work has progressed from initial research and consultations to implementation. A full website redesign is now underway, incorporating WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements into the design, development, and content structure. This approach reflects last year’s determination that a comprehensive rebuild is necessary to effectively address accessibility barriers. The redesign includes updates to site functionality, navigation, and content accessibility.

Commitment 2: By June 2025, consult with Teekay Canada’s employees to identify the most frequently used ICT tools and gather feedback into the accessibility features most helpful and essential to their work.

Status: Complete
Actions: An IT accessibility survey was created, to include vetting requirements to ask for accessibility requests and shared in the Accessibility Campaign via the internal communications channel Viva Engage. This form is being actively used and monitored by HR and IT.

Commitment 3: By December 2025, create an Accessibility Tools Guide that highlights key accessibility features available to employees in Teekay’s top 3 ICT systems, providing employees with support and guidance.

Status: Complete
Actions: IT has developed and published a Teekay Software Accessibility Usage Guide which includes accessibility guidance for the top three Microsoft applications used in our everyday business communication. This includes Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, and Oracle, our data management system.

The Teekay Software Accessibility Usage Guide was published along with the survey as an example of what can be provided to employees. The Accessibility Guides are posted and shared in the Accessibility Campaign on our internal communications platform and the SharePoint site for internal employees

Commitment 4: By June 2026, establish a Best Practices Guide for Teekay’s communications team to enhance accessibility across social media platforms and presence.

Status: Complete
Actions: The communications team continues to implement accessibility practices, including alternative text and closed captions for all digital images across social media and digital communications, and closed captions and audio transcriptions for videos, as outlined in the brand guidelines.

These requirements are also being incorporated into the ongoing website redesign to ensure consistency across all digital platforms and support improved accessibility in both content and structure.

Area 4: Communication (other than ICT)

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay strives to remove barriers that prevent equal access to non-digital communications to promote inclusion, promote effective information sharing, and provide equal opportunities. By enhancing the accessibility of Teekay’s communications and brand standards, we aim to foster an equitable and inclusive work environment where everyone can fully engage and participate.

Commitment 1: By December 2026, revise Teekay’s Communication and Brand Guidelines to incorporate plain language, high contrast colors, and accessible design.

Status: In progress
Actions: The brand color “Sky Blue” has been identified as having accessibility limitations; however, it will remain in use due to its importance to brand identity. The Communication and Brand Guidelines are updated to include accessibility considerations, including guidance on its use, disclaimers for print, and support for more accessible variations using tools in Microsoft Word and Outlook. The communications team has also consulted with Templafy, our document generation platform, regarding accessible templates. These updates are being aligned with the ongoing website updates.

Area 5: Procurement of Goods, Services, and Facilities

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay’s goal is to enhance our procurement processes to promote greater accessibility and equity for all. We are committed to removing barriers in the procurement of goods, services, and facilities to enhance access and foster equity across Teekay’s Canadian operations.

Commitment 1: By June 2026, update Teekay’s Global Procurement Policy to include a Canada-Specific section that incorporates accessibility considerations in the selection of goods, services, and facilities, offering barrier-free options for Teekay Canada’s operations.

Status: Complete
Actions: The update to the Global Procurement Policy is complete. A focus on accessibility has been incorporated into the revised policy, including a section under Supplier Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility. This section reinforces the commitment to encouraging sourcing from a diverse supplier base, including Subject Matter Experts, local suppliers, under-represented groups, and suppliers in local operational areas. It also formally embeds accessibility considerations into procurement decisions via Teekay’s In-Direct Spend Policy (i.e. Corporate Credit Card Policy), ensuring the selection of goods, services, and facilities includes barrier-free options.

Area 6: Design and Delivery of Programs and Services

Our Accessibility Goal

Our goal is to remove barriers in the design and delivery of Teekay’s programs and services to ensure equal access and equity across the organization and amongst stakeholders. By prioritizing accessibility across program and service delivery, Teekay can create an inclusive environment where everyone has equal opportunity to access and benefit from our offerings.

Commitment 1: By June 2026, in partnership with Teekay Canada’s Human Resources Team, research and develop a plan and deliver Accessibility Training to all customer-facing employees in Canada, equipping them with the knowledge of accessibility and practical tools to help remove workplace barriers.

Status: Complete
Actions: A relevant accessibility training module has been identified on LinkedIn Learning (Supporting Workers with Disabilities: Crafting an Inclusive Workplace) and assigned to the identified customer-facing employees in Canada. The scope of training participants has been confirmed in collaboration with Teekay Canada’s Human Resources team.

The training is active, with completion tracking in place through the Human Capital Management system to monitor participation and progress. This ensures employees are equipped with practical accessibility knowledge to support barrier-free service delivery.

Area 7: Transportation

Our Accessibility Goal

Teekay is not responsible for the transportation of the public. However, we remain committed to offering transportation methods to employees that are equipped to accommodate their accessibility needs. We strive to promote inclusive and accessible transportation by informing employees of the option to access barrier-free transportation for business-related travel.

Commitment 1: By June 2025, provide access to barrier-free transportation for business purposes in Teekay Canada’s Accommodation Policy.

Status: Complete
Actions: Teekay Canada has incorporated access to barrier-free transportation for business purposes by allowing employees, candidates, and customers the option to request an accommodation when interacting with the business. For employees, this is under the accommodation policy and for candidates this is listed in job postings.  For customers, this is managed by our customer-facing employees based on our LinkedIn accessibility training for customer-facing employees in Canada .  This includes providing guides on utilizing resources like accessible transportation options at the Vancouver International Airport, local buses, and trains, and confirming assistance from Teekay Canada’s third-party corporate travel management service, for travelers requiring accessibility support.

FEEDBACK

Teekay Canada continues to proactively promote awareness of the Accessibility Plan and available feedback channels. While no formal feedback has been received through our official email address during this reporting period, the dedicated accessibility feedback email remains actively monitored and accessibility reminders have been included in employee newsletters to encourage ongoing input.

An informal positive comment was received from an employee who, following surgery and temporary mobility needs, appreciated the installation of automatic doors for improving physical accessibility in the built environment.

Looking ahead, Teekay Canada will take a more proactive approach in shaping the next phase of commitments. This will include sharing learnings from our accessibility journey, further educating employees, and actively seeking input and guidance to inform the development of future commitments.

CONSULTATIONS

Summary

“Nothing About Us, Without Us” encourages persons with disabilities to be involved in the development of Teekay Canada’s Accessibility Plan. Teekay Canada consulted with British Columbia Centre for Ability (BCCFA) in the development of our Accessibility Plan to support our efforts in identifying and improving policies, procedures, and the built environment.

Consultation Process

Teekay Canada shared a draft of the Accessibility Plan via PowerPoint to BCCFA for review.  A virtual session was held on May 14, 2026, on Zoom to further discuss the goals of the Accessibility Plan and how they support a more accessible workplace and experience for employees, members, and the public.

Prior to the session, Teekay Canada inquired about any accommodations BCCFA would require for the  session. During the session, closed captioning was available, and PowerPoint slides were used to guide the discussion through each priority area and action item.

Results

Overall, the BCCFA found Teekay Canada’s Accessibility Plan to be clear, well-structured, and reflective of Teekay Canada’s commitment to improving accessibility and creating a positive impact on the community.

After reviewing the progress and actions completed this past year, the BCCFA suggested a few areas where more detail would strengthen the Accessibility Plan. Based on BCCFA’s feedback, the following improvements were made:

  • Expanded the use of plain language throughout the Accessibility Plan to improve clarity, readability, and accessibility for a broader audience.
  • Increased engagement with people with lived experiences of disability, and organizations that represent them, to help inform accessibility-related training, programs, and policies.
  • Enhanced the consistency and explanation of internal processes, adding more detail in explaining the action items that better demonstrate progress and impact.

CONCLUSION

Teekay Canada is deeply committed to cultivating an inclusive environment where every individual can engage fully in all areas of our organization without encountering barriers, including individuals with disabilities. We firmly believe that executing the commitments and initiatives outlined in our Accessibility Plan — and the meaningful progress highlighted in this year’s progress report — will continue to enrich the experiences of individuals with disabilities who interact with us, including both our employees, candidates and customers.

We understand that our dedication to accessibility must be an ongoing process to effectively identify and remove barriers today and in the future. We are resolute in our determination to support a barrier-free Canada by 2040 by working closely with people with disabilities to consistently refine and expand the initiatives in our Accessibility Plan. Through the progress achieved to date, we are continuing to build a work environment that is free from barriers and supports the full participation of all.
