Introducing our newly sponsored UK Cadets!
In January 2019, Teekay LNG launched a UK Cadet programme in collaboration with one of the UK’s largest Maritime charities, Trinity House. We have to date offered 10 sponsorships to cadets from all over the UK. Currently we have 4 Engine, 3 Electro Technical Officers and 3 Deck Cadets.
The sponsorship of each cadet is split evenly between Teekay and Trinity House, however all sea time earned will be onboard a Teekay LNG vessel, exposing the cadets at an early stage to how Teekay operates and what it means to be an operational leader.
In addition, Teekay has offered 5 berth spaces onboard Teekay LNG vessels specifically for Trinity House cadets. These Trinity House sponsored cadets will be placed on a variety of vessels to obtain their required sea time.
Teekay is proud to sponsor this next generation of junior officers and looks forward to having any qualifying Trinity graduates join our LNG fleet in the future.
Here are a few photos from our recent visit to the college. We were happy to see that the cadets were settling in and are very eager and curious about life at Teekay. This is the first batch of UK cadets with more to join in January 2020. Stay tuned!
