In November 2018, Teekay Australia project managers attended the launching ceremony of the Australian Oilers Replenishment (AOR) NUSHIP Supply, followed by the keel laying ceremony of the second AOR.
The ceremony was held at the Navantia Shipyard in Ferrol (Spain) in attendance of Mrs. Jenny Barrett, as the “ship sponsor” (godmother), the president of Navantia, Susana de Sarriá, the Ambassador of Australia, Julie-Ann Guivarra, the RAN Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral, Michael Noonan, and others.
These ships will replace existing vessels HMAS Success and HMAS Sirius and will be known as the Supply Class. They will provide operational support to the Navy’s fleet by providing fuel, ammunition and stores.
Congratulations to the teams in Spain, for the excellent work they are doing on the project. We look forward to the seeing the vessels in operation…
