Safety First! The morning of September 21 kicked off with a safety briefing by the Makati Diamond Resort’s staff. 80 attendants, including sea and shore staff from Teekay Tankers team, gathered in Manila, Philippines for this year’s second seafarer conference. The three-day event presented an opportunity for alignment between sea and shore staff and exchange of feedback.
Shore representatives delivered critical information that drove alignment on Teekay Tankers’ main objective: “by working together, we will operate the best ships in the industry.” Attendees engaged in discussion around numerous topics such as hazard identification, planned maintenance, operational excellence, vetting, fuel management and more. Teams exchanged some ideas about changes they would suggest to bring them closer to their goals and how to operate the best ships in the world.
