Thank you to seafarers around the world for continuing to provide essential services.
As we are an integral part of the world’s energy supply chain, our transportation services continue to be required. We remain focused on keeping our employees at sea and shore safe by following all government guidelines provided in the countries where our staff live and work.
Seafarers are essential due to their key role in moving not only food and household goods, but also fuel, medicine, equipment, and other critical supplies to places in need. While we have moved to a work from home protocol for our shore staff across the globe, our seafarers remain onboard to deliver energy to the world.
It is typical that seafarers spend months at sea away from their families. However, due to this pandemic, family reunions have been delayed in order to keep our seafarers and shore communities safe and healthy. We are also taking precautions on board to ensure the health and safety of our seafarers.
If you are able, we encourage you to support essential workers like our seafarers who are staying on board to ensure critical resources and supplies make it to shore for you. For those of you on shore, we encourage you to stay home to prevent the spread of the virus and to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy.
Thank you to Captain Greshchuk and his crew on board the LNG carrier, Pan Americas, for sharing these photos. During this unprecedented situation, our seafarers remain positive, professional, and focused on ensuring our operations run smoothly and safely. This is what #TeekaySpirit is all about, and we are grateful for and proud of everyone on board our Teekay vessels for their hard work and dedication.
To everyone at sea – we thank you and wish you good health and fair winds ahead!
