All across Teekay, we regularly hire talented people to join us in our offices and aboard our ships and units. We take the hiring process responsibility seriously, and we NEVER charge people to join us.
Recently, we have heard of bogus “recruitment” companies promising seafaring jobs at Teekay in return for application processing fees, sometimes totalling thousands of dollars. NEVER deal with any “recruiter” who demands such a negotiation; nor who asks for intimate financial information such as account numbers, social security numbers etc.
At Teekay, this is how we hire:
- Via our website at www.teekay.com
Here we list specific shore based roles; and also the various face-to-face, email and online processes by which seafarers can apply for roles and positions.
We sometimes promote these opportunities through official Teekay social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) where we have the username @TeekayCorp.
- Directly through Marine HR and HR departments and representatives – people who work for Teekay.
This could be at our offices, or at recruitment events.
Teekay colleagues may promote opportunities through social media channels, which always link back to our Teekay.com website or someone with an @teekay.com email address.
- Occasionally through reputable 3rd party recruiters, who NEVER ask for placement fees from applicants.
NONE of our hiring processes require payments by you.
