One of the conundrums of owning vessels and offering our marine services is that the “products” – our vessels and crew – spend most of their time far away from our customers and public stakeholders. Even when they are docked in a harbour, the 30 metre sides of the vessels hide the hard work – of navigation, maintenance, engineering, and accommodation. To investigate what goes on aboard a vessel – and to share it with you – we sent Jesper Karlshoej on a trip from Norway to Egypt with a camera and a notebook with the instruction: tell us how it is! Rangrid is currently being converted to the Gina Krog FSO in Singapore. Jesper joined her for her last voyage as a shuttle tanker. Read his stories at http://ginakrog.teekay.com/.
