Celebrating Maritime Day With a Crash Course on the Business of Shipping

On Thursday, September 24, 2015 a group of employees from the Teekay Vancouver office attended the Business of Shipping course put on by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and the Canadian Chamber of Shipping. The full-day session was packed with industry speakers – including Teekay’s very own Christian Waldegrave. The course covered various topics like: the history of shipping and trade, ship types and vessel operations, marine law and insurance, vessel chartering as well as ports and terminals. Each year, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) celebrates World Maritime Day. This years theme was ‘Maritime Education and Training” – a perfect opportunity for Teekay staffers to walk the walk and talk the talk! Here are some few photos of the event:
