It makes me immensely proud that when asked “What have you achieved in your career” I reply “You best take a seat, this may take awhile.”
When we asked Capt. Nick Woods to tell us about his career experiences, with a journalistic approach, he took us during his journey with the following words:
![]() Capt. Nick Woods onboard Ocean Shield |
A young man, shaking with nerves but very excited jumps from a launch pitching and rolling in Port Botany onto a gangway. This is the first day of his career. He looks up at the immensity of the ship, the biggest he has ever seen, completely unaware that the size of this ship will pale in comparison to the career that has just begun.Throughout my time in the company our business in Australia whilst having conventional roots has grown and adapted rapidly in a very harsh and changing industrial environment. Because of these changes, career opportunities and challenges have been frequent and numerous. As the Teekay Team Down Under has challenged itself and stepped outside the contractual comfort zone to remain successful in a unique market so have I as an employee which has resulted in so many interesting and vast career experiences. |
