Area 1: Employment
Our Accessibility Goal
Teekay Canada is committed to improving accessibility across the recruitment and selection process. Teekay Canada aims to eliminate obstacles to employment and career advancement to ensure fairness and equity for all employees and job candidates, including people with visible and non-visible disabilities. We strive to leverage existing organizational structures and goals to drive accessibility and support educational initiatives around accessibility to promote understanding and remove workplace barriers. Teekay Canada is committed to nurturing a workplace culture where every individual belongs, is treated fairly, is fully engaged in their work, and set up for success.
Commitment 1: By June 2025, develop and implement an Accommodation Policy and Request Process that includes workplace accommodation requests, request processes, and onboarding accommodations.
Status: Complete
Actions: Teekay Canada worked with a third-party HR consulting company to write an Accommodation Policy and Request Form. We then worked with the British Columbia Centre for Ability (“BCCFA”) to review the Accommodation Policy and Request Form to make sure it was clear and easy to use for people with different abilities. The BCCFA shared the following ideas:
- Add examples of the type of accommodation available
- Include training on how to use any equipment provided for accommodation
- Use simpler language that is easier to understand
- Change the policy and form formatting to make it easier to read
Teekay Canada used BCCFA’s feedback to update and finalize the Accommodation Policy and Request Form.
Teekay Canada’s Communication Team has created a user-friendly summary of the Accommodation Policy with an accompanying flowchart for all Canadian employees and consultants through our internal communications platform and is available upon request for customers and candidates.
Commitment 2: By December 2025, publish Teekay Canada’s Accommodation Policy and Request Process to the HR Resources and Policies Site for employees with an abbreviated version in job advertisements for job candidates.

EasyPark agreed to add one accessible parking spot near the Bentall 5 building entrance on each floor. Teekay also had an on-site meeting with Bentall to determine where to add the additional accessible parking spots. The upgrades to EasyPark and Bentall’s parking lots are paused until the parking lot resurfacing is complete at the end of June 2025.

Area 3: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
Our Accessibility Goal
Teekay’s objective is to ensure all individuals, including those with disabilities, have equal access to and participation in the technology used to conduct business. To accomplish this, we are committed to identifying and eliminating accessibility barriers throughout ICT systems to support equitable information sharing, offer equal access to company resources, and promote inclusivity across Teekay’s digital communications.

Actions: Our internal communications team is working with our website developer, Blender Media, to improve accessibility on our website. They have also researched other options with external providers such as InMotion and Accessibee.com. This includes accessibility in the design, hosting, and support for the investor-relations page.
In consultation with the website developer, it has been determined that the Teekay website may need a more extensive refresh or rebuild to make sure accessibility requirements are met. A website audit will be conducted to assess the current state of Teekay.com. Following the audit, options will be reviewed with the website developer to determine the best course of action.
Commitment 2: By June 2025, consult with Teekay Canada’s employees to identify the most frequently used ICT tools and gather feedback into the accessibility features most helpful and essential to their work.

By enhancing the accessibility of Teekay’s communications and brand standards, we aim to foster an equitable and inclusive work environment where everyone can fully engage and participate.
Commitment 1: By December 2026, revise Teekay’s Communication and Brand Guidelines to incorporate plain language, high contrast colors, and accessible design.

Actions: Teekay’s brand color, Sky Blue, does not meet accessibility standards. However, new tools in Word and Outlook now offer accessibility features that can suggest more accessible versions of the color.
The Communications team has spoken with external providers like Templafy to explore whether users can automatically apply accessible templates. The team are also planning to update brand guidelines with a disclaimer noting that Sky Blue is not accessible in print.
Instead of removing Sky Blue completely, the team are exploring technology that can adjust the color where needed to meet accessibility standards.

Our Accessibility Goal
Teekay Canada is not responsible for the transportation of the public. However, we remain committed to offering transportation methods to employees that are equipped to accommodate their accessibility needs. We strive to promote inclusive and accessible transportation by informing employees of the option to access barrier-free transportation for business-related travel.

Status: In progress
Actions: Teekay Canada has incorporated access to barrier-free transportation for business purposes by allowing customers, candidates, and employees the option to request an accommodation when interacting with the business. This includes providing guides on utilizing resources like accessible transportation options at the Vancouver International Airport, local buses, and trains, and confirming assistance from Corporate Traveler, Teekay Canada’s third-party corporate travel management service, for travelers requiring accessibility support. The guidelines have been included in the Accommodation Policy to ensure comprehensive coverage of accessibility needs for all employees.
FEEDBACK
As of this reporting period, Teekay Canada has not received any formal feedback from employees, members, partners, or the public regarding our Accessibility Plan. We recognize that receiving feedback is essential to ensuring the Plan is meaningful, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our stakeholders.
To proactively address this, we have included a platform to provide feedback and launched an internal communications campaign to raise awareness about the Accessibility Plan and the various channels available for providing feedback. This includes dedicated intranet posts, email communications, and physical posters in common areas. Looking ahead, we will continue to promote awareness of the Plan and encourage input through ongoing engagement efforts, ensuring that feedback becomes an integral part of the Plan's evolution and implementation.
CONSULTATIONS
Summary
“Nothing About Us, Without Us” encourages persons with disabilities to be involved in the development of Teekay Canada’s Accessibility Plan. Teekay Canada consulted with British Columbia Centre for Ability (BCCFA) in the development of our Accessibility Plan to support our efforts in identifying and improving policies, procedures, and the built environment.
Consultation Process
A virtual consultation session was held with the BC Centre for Ability (BCCFA) on April 30, 2025, on Zoom to further discuss the goals of our Accessibility Plan and how they support a more accessible workplace and experience for employees, members, and the public.
Before the session, we asked about any accommodation BCCFA would require for the live session. During the session, closed captioning was available, and we used the PowerPoint slides to guide the discussion through each priority area and action item.
Results
During the consultation, we walked through each of Teekay Canada’s accessibility commitments and the actions we have taken over the last year.
Overall, the BCCFA found Teekay Canada’s Progress Report to be clear, well-structured, and reflective of Teekay Canada’s commitment to improving accessibility and creating a positive impact on the community.
The BCCFA made suggestions on where to adjust the wording of the report and the details to improve the use of plain language in the plan. For example, they identified a couple of uses of jargon, some repetitive language, and a few instances of unclear language. We have revised the language and added additional context where relevant to provide a more inclusive and thorough report.
CONCLUSION
Teekay Canada is deeply committed to cultivating an inclusive environment where every individual can engage fully in all areas of our organization without encountering barriers and including individuals with disabilities. We firmly believe that executing the commitments and initiatives outlined in our Accessibility Plan will enrich the experiences of individuals with disabilities who interact with us, including both our employees and customers.
We understand that our dedication to accessibility must be an ongoing process to effectively identify and remove barriers today and in the future. We are resolute in our determination to support a barrier-free Canada by 2040 by working closely with people with disabilities to consistently refine and broaden initiatives under our Accessibility Plan to create a work environment that is free from barriers and supports the full participation of all.
