Curiosity, familial ties, and the opportunity to provide for their loved ones and grow as a person were some of the reasons that drew them to pursue a life at sea.
Continuing our celebration of the International Day of the Seafarer, we paid tribute to all the seafarers across the globe for their invaluable and all-too-often overlooked contribution to international trade and the world economy. To commemorate this special day, we spoke to some of our seafarers from the Tanker Fleet to talk about their own voyages, then and now.
Hear from Captain Sachin Prakash, Chief Engineer Anil Sajeevan, Chief Engineer Kuldeep Singh, Bosun Alfred Ceralde, and Chief Cook Ronaldo Gomez as they share their sailing experiences and reflect on their maiden voyages to their last.
Chief Engineer Kuldeep Singh and Chief Engineer Anil Sajeevan talk about how technology has been shaping seafarers’ lives onboard. |
Chief Cook Ronaldo Gomez and Bosun Alfred Ceralde speak about the excitement of travel, learning from different cultures, and making a living as seafarers. |
Chief Engineer Anil Sajeevan describes a spectacular moment when he was onboard a vessel. |
Captain Sachin Prakash believes in sticking to the basics and to never stop learning. |
Our seafarers believe in being passionate and staying curious. They also understand the value of knowing oneself and giving importance to their mental health and well-being. All are sound advice, even for the non-seafaring community.
We are proud to hear your stories not just on your special day, but each and every day.
