Celebrating #EachforEqual at Teekay
On March 8th, we celebrate International Women’s Day. It is a day of reflection that helps us critically think about how to promote gender equality in our cultures, workplaces, and lives.
Every year at Teekay, we celebrate the annual theme presented by the Official International Women’s Day campaign. This year’s theme is “Each for Equal” (#EachforEqual).
What does this mean? Individually, we’re responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. What if we used these thoughts and actions to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements?
This might seem like asking for a lot – but it’s simpler than you think. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets all impact our larger society. Every time we use our voice or take a small, incremental action to promote gender equality, the effect snowballs.
This year we asked all at Teekay to share ideas for small actions we can take to promote gender equality. We received submissions from all around the world. Take a look at the gallery below to see what our colleagues have pledged to do in support of International Women’s Day.
