The Australian Government is currently looking to build and maintain up to 21 patrol boats to support Pacific Islands’ border and economic interests. Teekay Australia responded to the tender as Prime Contractor. Teekay’s bid document outlines that the best place to build and support these vessels is in Cairns, North Queensland. If successful, this project will bring immediate infrastructure investment and substantial employment opportunities to Cairns and Northern Australia for years to come.
