Talented Young Minds Joined the Teekay Ranks This Summer
This summer, the Trondheim, Rotterdam and Aberdeen Teekay offices became the home of 15 summer interns who worked in the Engineering, Operations, Finance & Accounting, and Human Resource department. We caught up with the students in mid-July to ask them how they’ve been enjoying life at Teekay and get a glimpse of what they’ve been working on.
As most students know, the days of stellar cover letters and grade point average (GPA) are over. Companies are looking for well-rounded talent, and that usually means a certain level of work experience. As a result, finding an internship is great way to get hands-on experience and meet people in the industry. Sigrid Sandvik Børve, with the Operations department, had this to say about her first summer at Teekay: “[Being here provides] me with hands-on experience related to my education while I’m still a student. Teekay is a window into the real world for an engineering student.” That is indeed the beauty of internship. You have the ability to learn and experiment, fail and succeed. It’s all part of the process!
At Teekay we take pride in the talented minds that makeup our organization. Let’s take a moment to outline their hard work and commitment to bringing energy to the world with Teekay SPIRIT! Now, back to school!
If you are a student looking for an opportunity, do not hesitate to contact your regional Teekay office.
