11 Teams Compete for Best Team Trophies
On Saturday, July 18, 2015, the Vancouver office hosted its annual employee sponsored Teekay Golf Tournament in beautiful Coquitlam, BC. Located on the hillside of Eagle Mountain, 11 teams competed for everlasting Teekay golfing stardom at Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club. From one putt to the next, the Teekay Spirit was definitely present on the golf course. In the women’s competition, Alyssa D’lima silenced the crowd when she hit the longest drive, and Gwenda Ellwood was the golfer with the best tee shot – the one whose ball was closest to the pin. The event culminated in a tie which saw team Ismail Lila, Eric Kaufmanis, George Heinmiller and Martin Schultz shoulder to shoulder with team Alyssa D’Lima, Gwenda Ellwood, Craig Milholm, David Milholm with a strong -10. If you’re unfamiliar with the golf point system, just know that being in the minus zone is good. A negative score means that it took you less shots to hit your target. The tournament was a fun-filled team-building activity for these Vancouver golfers. Let’s hope they were able to get a few steps in for the Global Corporate Challenge. Until next year!
