Floating Production, Storage and Offloading

Through its ownership of Teekay Petrojarl, Teekay can supply and operate Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) through conversions or newbuildings. Teekay Petrojarl operate five FPSOs, two are on each of the Norwegian and UK Continental shelves and one on the Siri Field off the southeastern coast of Brazil. With a combined production capability of 350,000 barrels of oil per day and a crude storage capacity of more than one million barrels Teekay Petrojarl is the largest operator of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels in the North Sea . All production units are under long-term contracts producing for oil and gas companies.

Teekay Petrojarl was founded as Golar-Nor Offshore in 1974 and became a FPSO contractor in 1984. Teekay acquired majority ownership in 2006 and full ownership in 2008.

An FPSO is a ship-shaped vessel deployed to produce, process, store and offload hydrocarbons from offshore fields and may be connected to wells on the seafloor through risers or to a platform.

As traditional offshore hydrocarbon basins have matured, oil and gas companies have increasingly focused on subsea installations and reusable FPSO systems. As a consequence, the oil and gas industry has begun to look to new and more challenging areas for reserves.

Teekay Petrojarl delivers expertise and value in a number of areas. Our employees at sea and shore possess a unique blend of operational, engineering and professional expertise.

Teekay Petrojarl is committed to responsible health, safety, environment and quality practices on each of its five FPSOs.
