We put safety first. No compromises.
We believe all incidents are preventable and our goal is zero harm to people and property. We look after each other and make sure everyone gets home safely.
We work to the internationally recognized OHSAS 18001 and International Safety Management (ISM) standards. But standards alone are not enough. We strive to embed safety into personal actions.
Teekay leaders demonstrate commitment and visible leadership on a daily basis. Teekay employees take responsibility for their own health and safety and to safeguard that of their colleagues. Risk is openly assessed, safety issues are discussed and intervention to stop unsafe acts is encouraged.
Through numerous programs at sea and on shore, we continually focus on health and work environment issues affecting employee well-being and the development of personal safety skills for staff, contractors and visitors.
Safety at Sea
Piracy is an ongoing concern for the entire marine industry. Teekay takes every safety precaution, including industry-recognized, best practices, to protect our seafarers. We also work with various industry bodies to urge the International Maritime Organization (IMO), United Nations (UN) and governments to take action to combat piracy.
We invite you to show your support by joining the campaign to Save our Seafarers.
